Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are from a Title One School, and we are located in a low income neighborhood. They are eager to learn but lack the necessary supplies. School starts in August and parents struggle to purchase supplies or even uniforms.
My students are hungry, not for food but for knowledge.
They come to school with hopes and dreams. I want to enchance their dreams by increasing their knowledge. Fifth grade is a crossroads for my students as they are on their way to middle school. My students enjoy working in workstations.
My Project
Headphones are in great need and demand. Headphones are used during workstations when students can use the computers. About 90% of my students and are English Language Learners, and computers help them enhance vocabulary learning. When they use our classroom technology we can benefit from having them listen to stories or work out word problems. By having the computer play stories on the headphones it can help with better understanding the concepts. I am also requesting tape. We use the tape in our journals. We use the journals as our learning tools to helps us learn concepts. Also I am requesting command hooks to help my classroom stay organized.
