My Students
I teach students with learning disabilities in reading and math. They are from a low economic background. We are a Title I school. In order for them to learn, they need visual aids and headphones for working on their auditory discrimination.
Most programs they currently use have a reading component where the program reads along with them.
This helps them enhance their reading skills. My students enjoy technology and hands on activities . Many are auditory learners. They learn best through listening.
My Project
These headphones will assist my students by giving them the help they need to succeed in their intervention programs. These programs read the problems to them and teach them how to read and complete math problems.
The programs help with my students auditory discrimination deficits by teaching phonics.
My students cannot learn without headphones.
They are a major component for their intervention programs which they use each day. We have listening centers with books on tape they use to help them read more fluently. They need help with decoding skills in order to read more fluently. This also will help them when writing .
