My Project
What I love most about my students is their resilience, curiosity, and endless potential. Every day, they come into the classroom with wide eyes, big dreams, and an eagerness to learn—despite the many challenges they face. As a Title I school, many of my students come from low-income households and lack access to basic learning tools at home and, unfortunately, even in the classroom. Yet they continue to show up, try their best, and support one another. They are kind, creative, and with determined traits that inspire me as their teacher every single day.
One of the biggest challenges we face in our classroom is access to quality headphones.
So much of our learning now happens through digital platforms. My students use online programs to read stories, listen to instructions, practice reading skills, and take important assessments. Many of these activities require headphones to help students focus, avoid distractions, and work independently. Without enough headphones, students have to share, wait their turn, or try to learn in a noisy environment, making it hard for them to do their best work.
By providing each student with a working pair of headphones, you are giving them the gift of focus and independence. You're helping them hear clearly during reading lessons, understand directions during tests, and fully engage with educational apps that build their foundational skills. Headphones may seem like a small item, but for my students, they are a key that unlocks a quieter, more personalized, and more effective learning experience.
