My Project
I teach music in an elementary school with 230 students K-4. I also have about 75 students between 5th-8th grade band and choir that meet in my middle school music room. The sound levels in these rooms can be dangerously loud whenever we play instruments, especially percussion. Our elementary bucket drums and rhythm sticks can be deafening with the number of students in each class.
I have requested sound-absorbing panels that I can install in both music rooms to help our band, choir, and elementary musicians sound even better!
These panels should lower the decibel level down to a safer range for the students and me to protect our hearing. It will also reduce the noisy burden we place on adjacent classrooms. This project will allow me to place 200 panels between our two rooms.
