My Project

In this project, students will learn the fundamentals of financial literacy by exploring the concept of budgeting, saving, and making wise financial decisions—culminating in understanding the cost, value, and use of Apple AirPods Pro 2 as part of a hands-on, real-world learning experience.

The goal is to provide students with the opportunity to engage in financial literacy through activities that teach budgeting, saving, and wise spending.

Using Apple AirPods Pro 2 as a desired item, students will learn how to make informed financial decisions.

Project Overview: Financial literacy is a critical life skill that students must develop to navigate their future successfully. By using Apple AirPods Pro 2 as the center of our learning project, we’ll tie a popular, high-value product into lessons on personal finance, decision-making, and budgeting.

Students will research the cost of the AirPods, compare prices, calculate savings goals, and design a financial plan to "purchase" them in a simulated classroom activity. Through this hands-on project, they’ll develop skills like financial planning, goal-setting, and delayed gratification—key concepts in financial literacy.

Activities will include:

Budgeting and Saving: Students will learn how to create a monthly budget, set savings goals, and calculate the time it would take to purchase the AirPods while managing other expenses.

Cost Comparison and Consumer Awareness: Students will compare prices of the AirPods Pro 2 from various retailers, discussing the importance of comparison shopping and evaluating factors like warranties and discounts.

Investment and Interest: Introducing basic financial principles like interest, students will explore how investing money could lead to faster savings and the concept of opportunity cost in financial decisions.

Financial Reflection: Students will reflect on how their spending habits align with their financial goals and discuss the importance of making long-term financial plans.
