My Project

I’m building a dedicated space for sound therapy in our classroom using tools designed to calm the nervous system, spark curiosity, and foster inner peace. Sound therapy supports focus, self-regulation, and emotional expression skills that are essential for lifelong learning and social-emotional growth.

Each sound therapy item in this project is carefully chosen to support students’ emotional regulation, focus, and sense of safety in the classroom.

The singing bowl and tuning forks provide calming frequencies that help students transition into a focused state, making it easier for them to absorb and retain new information. The tongue drum encourages creative expression and fine motor coordination while promoting relaxation through rhythm. The meditation flow chimes create a tranquil classroom atmosphere, ideal for quiet work or reflection. The aurora projector visually supports mindfulness by transforming the room into a serene space, helping students shift from overstimulation to calm readiness for learning. These tools are not only therapeutic—they reinforce the importance of self-awareness and give students the internal tools they need to engage with academics more successfully.

My primary goal is to create a sound therapy corner that allows students to reset emotionally and physically during the day. I want to equip my students with mindfulness tools they can use throughout their lives to soothe anxiety, improve concentration, and develop emotional resilience. Long term, I hope to normalize moments of stillness and self-care within our daily routine, supporting not just academic success, but whole child development.

My students are incredibly resilient, empathetic, and curious. Many of them face daily challenges—at home and in their communities—but still show up eager to learn and connect. What makes them truly special is their openness to new experiences and their deep capacity for growth.
