Trying to teach in the 21st century is difficult when you have a 1980's overhead projector that continues to blow light bulbs, and decides to cut off at the worst times...usually within the first 5 minutes of the lesson.
I teach 2nd grade to scholars that attend a North Carolina school.
My scholars are very intelligent and love learning, especially when our lesson involves the overhead. However, they become upset because 5 minutes into the lesson, the light bulb fades and goes out. The remaining portion of the lesson is then taught from the white board and doesn't give the same effect.
My Project
With the help of the Elmo projector and the LCD digital multimedia projector, my scholars and I won't need to worry about having spare light bulbs. My scholars will all be able to see the material from their seats. I won't need to worry about my scholars not wanting to share their work, or need to wait to share work because I need overhead film. With this new technology, I can begin to bring my scholars into the 21st century.
Technology within a classroom is probably the most important item you can have.
However, with out dated material, such as over heads from the 1980's, teaching and preparing our scholars for the 21st Century is impossible. PLEASE HELP MY SCHOLARS.
