This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
High-need special education high school classroom that has been neglected by the school and left to fend for itself.
I am a new special education teacher who inherited a neglected classroom. My students have a hard time reading from an old chalk board and would benefit from a dry erase board. Most of the special education classrooms did not receive the new dry erase boards. Only the general education classrooms did and my students were neglected.
The dry erase board will make it easier for students to see the work on the board because I need to use different colors to help them with their visual deficits. It also allows them to write on the board while the LCD projector is on.
My students have always been neglected. They know this and they see the discrimination they face because they are special education students. You will give my students the opportunity to learn in an environment that helps them succeed.
