My Project
I teach a great bunch of fifth graders, 10 girls and 9 boys who are so sweet and engaged in learning as long as there's an incentive and a prompt that's encouraging. Research shows that when kids are hungry they can be less productive in the classroom. Thus, the idea of shopping for snacks.
Also, many of my students come from financially struggling families, and as a caring teacher, I would love to have resources like pop-tarts, organic gummies, Goldfish crackers, Cheez-its, etc. to give out when needed. And why not give to other students as an incentive to stay on task.
