Help me give my students powerful vibrating alarm clocks to assist them with the daily routines and adjustments needed when transitioning to a new setting.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are Deaf and/or Hard-of-Hearing students who have a love of learning. Most of my students are from a low-income, urban setting in NYC. My students are in a self-contained, special education class. They are a cheerful bunch who have studied together since their early elementary years and are now approaching their 5th grade graduation.
As their speech-language teacher, we have developed such great bonds and are working towards creating independence as they transition into middle school.
My students are multisensory learners who rely heavily on tactile and visual information. These alarm clocks provides the necessary accessibility- lights and vibrations, needed to foster their independence.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
