This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

So many of my students are wildly creative. I teach up to 22 in a class session and it is difficult to get one on one time with my students. Having a recording device that can also be used to manipulate and arrange songs which the students create would be like doubling my presence in the class.

My students are eager to learn and please.

My school is made up of 75% Hispanic students from Puerto Rico, Cuba, and a variety of other south American nations. Our school environment is one of playful learning. Students generally care about each other and are good friends to each other; they like coming to school.

My Project

My students will be involved in Songwriting activities, and will use the iPad to record their ideas within the Garageband application. After editing and finishing chunks of the song, the student will choose beats and accompanying musical lines to compliment their song.

My classroom, with your help, can move into the present day of technology.

My students will get a firm grip on using the iPad for something other than video or games. They will gain an understanding of the productivity and assistance that can come from great applications.
