Greetings! I am the Instructional Technology Coach at the amazing BSE where we are “Building a Community of Leaders.” We are a Title I school located in rural South Carolina. After 20 years in education, I am excited for this new journey and all the learning opportunities it will bring. I know that working with students in kindergarten through 5th grade will bring challenges that will strengthen us all. Welcome to our STEM adventure and fasten your seat belts for the ride!
If there is one lesson that I have learned, it is not to place my own limitations on my students.
When you serve students in a high need, high poverty area, every advantage has the potential to be life-changing. No matter what challenges our students may face in life, they come to school ready to learn and eager to explore.
My Project
Over the years, we have acquired some awesome materials to use in classrooms that support technology integration. But, from time to time, those items need a little recharge. It is often difficult, not to mention expensive, to provide batteries to recharge those items. And then what happens? Well, they sit. And wait. This project will help to secure batteries that we can have on hand ready to go when our technology items need a little charging boost.
With a generous stock of batteries, we don't have to fear those dreaded days when technology sits on the shelf unused.
Our STEAM projects and STEAM focus can continue on without any "low battery" interruptions.
