it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have the privilege to work with 20 independent and eager students, with various learning preferences, in an ICT classroom filled with wiggles. My students range in a variety of learning needs and adaptations.
My students are still learning to identify their needs and use tools to create effective learning spaces for themselves.
As such, we have decided to create a fully functioning flexible seating classroom. We have launched our first portion, and it has been such a great success! We have researched and studied our students to identify their needs even further. As of now, these items will help to support our entire student population! We need bouncy balls, a wobble chair, and cube chairs to support the physical and occupational therapy needs of our students.
With your help, we will be able to have a fully functioning flexible seating classroom. We encourage our students to become independent learners and thinkers. By doing so, we hope to provide these children with the avenues of success!
My Project
Our Kindergartners just can't help those sillies and when we need to move, we move! However during classroom activities, fighting off those wiggles with our current table and carpet seating are not enough.
Not only will stools, cushions, and cube chairs allow my students to use tools that will help them in participating in learning environments, but they will also have the opportunity to identify which tools can assist their learning needs.
This project is aimed to raise funds to furnish our classroom with stools, cube chairs, and bouncy balls to provide learning stations with various seating arrangements. We need these tools to promote student engagement and focus. A learning cube station will provide students that need help staying balanced feel ready to learn. Wiggle stools will allow students who live to turn and twist, feel confident while writing a new How To Book! Seat cushions will provide students with back support and comfort as we read all about the continents! These diverse seating tools will allow our students to experience and decide learning preferences and environments!
My co-teacher and I would like to provide students with the tools to have all students feel comfortable during whole group and small group activities. As we plan hands-on and interactive lessons, we find that incorporating flexible carpet seating can provide all of our students with the foundation to engage in learning.
As we continue to grow in Kindergarten, our wiggles and silly bones just can't be controlled! At times, it becomes difficult to focus on our lessons and peers when we just have the need to move! These tools will help us feel comfortable at the carpet and foster the confidence to engage in lessons and learning!
