it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach a dynamic group of kids who are always looking for ways to learn new things about technology. They come to the classroom filled with humor and laughter and creative minds. More than a positive attitude, thirst for learning, these kids come to my classroom with empty stomachs and excessive troubles brought about by homelessness and other social issues. They often ask if I have food or water to give them because they are feeling hungry and have not had a decent meal. As often as they ask for basic necessities, they also ask for materials that we can use for STEM projects.
My Project
The students in my classroom will definitely benefit from getting some snacks such as honey buns, potato chips, and chocolate milk to give them some energy boost while they are doing their work in class. They can also bring some of the snacks home to share with their family if they would like. The students are also going to benefit from receiving basic hygiene materials such as toothbrushes and tooth pastes as many of them expressed they lack these materials for daily oral hygiene. Some of them had also expressed the need for batteries to power up electronic items that they use at home.
