My Students

Hello! Thank you for visiting my Donor's Choose Page. I have the most amazing and wonderful sixth grade students that love to learn Science. My students are very diverse and have varying needs, however. the one common factor is the importance to interact collaboratively with technology. They greet every learning experience with enthusiasm and creativity.

My students are kind, hard workers, beginning scientists, and have a passion to learn!

Our school does not qualify for Title 1 funding, and with our current demographic mix, we are on the lower end of assistance from the state and county. We often use our own funds to ensure our students receive the tools they need to succeed. Any assistance you provide would be greatly appreciated.

My Project

Engaged, excited, and motivated to break the code is what you would observe in my class on Escape Room days. By utilizing Breakout EDU boxes, students will work with the Science Standards in a new and exciting way. Working in teams, students must use clues and puzzles and work collaboratively to breakout of the Escape Room Scenario. Breakout Edu uses locked boxes in different styles. A wide variety of locks, including directional, word, and digit locks, invisible ink, and UV flashlights to read the mystery ink is presented to engage students in learning Science as they work collaboratively to succeed in unlocking the box.

Students will need to use critical thinking and reasoning skills as well as Science concepts to complete a series of tasks and puzzles to escape the classroom.

It also allows for more participation and student engagement. Last year, my students worked on digital Breakouts only. The Breakout Kit will allow students to work digitally and hands-on to solve problems in creative ways. Throughout the game, students will need to work on tasks that involve all areas of curriculum including ELA, math, science, social studies, music, art and technology. Communicating effectively between members of the Breakout team is developed during the Breakout days. I want to help my students think outside the box with Breakout Edu!
