Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students use dry erasers, and markers on a weekly basis. I like to incorporate activities for them that will trigger engagement. However, they are using stained and dirty white boards. It is hard to clearly see the new information. I tried to clean them, but the stains remained. Changing from white boards to LCD boards will allow all my students to have a nice clean area to work with. Plus, it will eliminate watching hyperactive students with the markers, keeping track of the erasers, buying more markers, and it will protect their eyes. The wall white board will provide the much-needed space to model during the lesson.
The second part of my project relates to the time after the lesson, independent work, and/or testing.
As students complete their work, they take a “Brain Break,” while we wait for the rest of the class to finish. Students are always looking for a relaxing seating area. I have one big been bad and they take turns. Not all students can use it because we run out of time. Your donation will provide new chairs to relax.
Finally, the books on dealing with emotions will help my ADHD students with strategies to self-regulate to prepare for their future. The rest of the items in my protect are fundamental supplies used by most classrooms for visual learning, quick assessments, and collaborative activities essential for learning.
