Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students will use ratios and proportions to make models of the solar System. A class set of calculators is perfect to keep students focused on their work and minimize distractions on a computer.
After the students have made their calculations, they will formulate a plan to create their models.
The models will use a variety of media, varying from poster, to clay, to paper mache. Keeping their area clean after a project is also important since I have 5 classes of approximately 25 students.
Their work will be showcased throughout the class and hallways to promote pride, increase engagement, and motivate them to do their best. They will also use the cardstock paper to make Starmaps as they learn about different constellations.
