I teach high school math this year. The calculators purchased previously require replacement batteries. These batteries are as costly as replacing the calculators with solar ones instead. These calculators should last for many years without any servicing. Many of my scientific calculators this year will be out of service and students will have to use either four-function calculators, or they will have to use one from their computer. Neither of these is ideal. Anything we can do to make it easier for these students to learn is helpful.
