My Project
Students are often expected to come in to school and begin performing right away and that is not always the best expectation for them. I would like to give my students the ability to ease into their academic day by giving them resources to have a smart start with a purpose.
One major area students need more practice in is geometry, the only way to give them this practice is to have them working with shapes.
My soft start plan will give students the daily opportunity to work with shapes and problem solve with geometry while they think they are just playing and socializing with classmates.
Students will enter the classroom in the morning and have time to problem solve puzzles using the shapes. They will be given tasks to build a structure with specific requirements, such as “build a structure that can protect a bird using 3 squares and 2 triangles.
