Soft Start in Second Grade

Help me give my students LEGOS, Connector Blocks and other fun building materials to start their day off right!

My Project

Every morning, my students students start the day with a "Soft Start." They have the opportunity to create, build and problem solve utilizing a variety of different materials. Although we already have a solid base with a variety of materials, I would like to be able to offer my students even more choices as they begin their day - especially during the second half of the school year.

My students enjoy this routine and it really helps them get focused for their day.

Presenting many different options and allowing students to follow their interests has been a wonderful start to our day in second grade!

Many students also choose to use the Soft Start materials during recess in the afternoon. It's an awesome experience to see my students create, problem solve and present projects that they are so proud of!
