This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students begin each day with a soft start where they play with STEM activities. Starting our day this way allows students to ease their way into our very busy academic day. Beginning our day this way helps support my students as they transition from Kindergarten to First Grade giving them much needed time to explore through play.
First grade is a pivotal year in learning.
We use manipulatives throughout our learning to help support student understanding of the concepts being introduced and practiced. These counters, alphabet beads, building tiles, and other supplies will aid my students in both their social emotional and academic parts of their day.
