My Project
Students are keen to use skills and materials from Fashion Design class in their art projects. The roving, needle felting and sewing supplies will allow us to create soft sculptures in Art I and to bolster the visual vocabulary and mixed media potential of the upper level classes.
So many students are unfamiliar with traditional handicrafts and want to learn hand sewing and 3 dimensional design/pattern building.
The materials I am asking for will allow Art I to have an entirely new unit on soft sculpture and to take time to reflect on the differences between sculpting in various mediums as opposed to simply working with clay.
