My Project
I am looking for two classroom-friendly sofas for my students. Hard plastic chairs are uncomfortable and make paying attention to lessons very difficult for some students. Having a comfy place to sit and learn will make all the difference to kids, increasing their attention to details, listening skills, and focus.
By providing a soft spot to sit, I want to make this classroom a safe space where kids feel comfortable, which helps them take risks like public speaking, challenging ideas, and forming new ones in the face of opposition.
Being comfortable encourages kids to step out of the box and try new things and think bigger ideas. Being comfortable encourages kids to read longer, talk longer, stay focused longer, and get more done.
These couches will help my students not only feel safe within the classroom, they will add to the community feel for what this classroom strives to be. We sit together, we learn together.
