My Project

At RES, we believe that learning extends beyond the classroom. This year's participation in the annual Socktober sock drive, entirely student-led through our newly created volunteer kindness club, Kindness Keepers, aims to gather 500 pairs of socks for children experiencing homelessness. This initiative not only serves a crucial need but also provides invaluable lessons in empathy, community service, and social responsibility.

Our students are special because they are taking the lead in this initiative, showcasing their commitment to making a difference in our community.

By collecting socks for Positive Tomorrows, the Oklahoma Homeless Alliance, and their fellow RES students, they are building a direct connection to those in need. This experience fosters compassion and encourages them to think critically about the challenges faced by others.

Working together to meet our goal promotes teamwork and collaboration, allowing students to understand the importance of collective effort. Through Kindness Keepers, they are developing leadership skills and inspiring their peers to be proactive in their communities.

Moreover, participating in Socktober cultivates gratitude and awareness. Students will reflect on their own circumstances, recognizing the importance of simple necessities like socks that many take for granted. This heightened awareness empowers them to advocate for others, shaping them into thoughtful, engaged citizens.

By supporting this drive, you are not just donating socks; you are helping our students grow into empathetic leaders ready to make a positive difference in the world around them. Thank you for joining us in this meaningful endeavor!
