My students need 20 keyboard skins for our new MacBook Pro Cart that is shared amongst 7 classrooms.

My Students

My students love technology. They look forward to using our desk top computers and mini iPads daily as well as the laptops that we share with the floor. The keyboards are boring and do not help our students learn keyboarding. These colorful skins will help us get them to become better keyboarders.

My school is in a low-income area with a high ESOL population.

I teach 2nd grade with ESOL students who are beginners, Special Ed students who don't know the letters of the alphabet, and Regular Ed students reading as high as 3rd grade level. My students are always eager to use technology but find keyboarding difficult without a computer teacher to teach keyboarding.

My Project

Many of our students have difficulty identifying letters and numbers on regular basis. With the help of the color coding keyboard skins we can assist our students to become better keyboarders. These particular skins have identified the letters in blue, the numbers in white, and the special keys in red. With the help of color recognition students will learn where the various keys are on the keyboard. Beginner keyboarders can focus just on letters by telling them to use the blue keys only, numbers using the white etc.

The keyboard skins will help all the students who use our Laptop Cart to become more efficient keyboarders.

The skins separate the letters, numbers and special keys into various colors helping the students distinguish which keys to use and the locations of the keys. They will also protect our equipment and add color to an otherwise boring keyboard for young enthusiasts.
