My school is an elementary school, and my students are first graders.

61% of our students are economically disadvantaged. The school provides a safe, encouraging, and positive environment for all students. The students are told, that it's okay not to know something, but it's not okay not to try. My students come to school every day ready to learn. I want to make sure that every student has the resources in the classroom to make them a successful student.

My Project

The materials I have requested are to help my students learn while being socially distant. I have requested writing tools such as whiteboards, dry erase markers, clipboards, and colored pencils. I have also requested enough math manipulatives so that each student will have their own set. In school, we use math manipulatives every day and I want to make sure each student has their own set to use while remaining socially distant.

Each of my students needs their own set of materials in order to successfully succeed in a socially distant environment.

Each student will receive their own math manipulative bucket with a set of Unifix cubes to help with counting, two-colored counters to help with addition and subtraction, base ten blocks for place value practice, and foam dice to play with various math games. These math buckets will provide the students with all the materials they need to be successful with their hands-on learning.
