This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students want the opportunity to experience the wonderful sport of pickleball and to practice collaboration through challenges. The students will learn how to play singles and doubles of pickleball. It will be a huge reward and motivator for the students. We have a very small footprint at our school with extremely limited space and this activity fits perfectly with the small amount of space we have.
The students are learning the rules and appreciate all the challenges and joys the sport brings.
We will also be playing pickleball for our required PE times too. The students are so excited to rally and exercise. We also want to practice team work and collaboration with learning how to stack and unstack plastic cups as a cooperative challenge. The students will be racing for the quickest time and need to work with a partner and be creative with their stacking and unstacking techniques.
