Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Social/emotional learning is not just about calm breathing and counting to ten. It is about finding what works for each and every student. I work with students that have Autism, ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, Oppositional Defiance Disorder, Impulse Control Disorder, a Specific Learning Disability and some who may even be experiencing Psychosis. A fidget toy may work for one student but may not work for the other. I want to create a space for student's to have a toolbox of coping within their reach.
By helping me fund this project, you will help to create a space for a child to relax, to paint, to play, to build and most importantly, to find what works to help calm them down or ease their anxiety.
