This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I can tell you a lot of stories about my students. They come from different backgrounds, most of them are economically disadvantaged. I teach social studies but because our grade level is not tested we don't get a lot of resources. What I love about them is that they are eager to try new things and experience the world out there!! If our project is funded I want them to realize that there are people out there doing good things for the benefit of others and that they can also contribute by doing acts of kindness.

My Project

This year my students will have the opportunity to participate in the National History Day contest!!! During the first semester, they will research a historical event to create an exhibit as the final product which will be presented and hopefully we will make it to finals. Students need to print their research papers, data, and images. Most of them do not have access to computers or printers at home. My SPED, ELLs, and grade level students will benefit from reading maps, data, vocabulary word wall, stations, and visuals all printed in color! In a room with over 30 students is a challenge to watch history videos, we need a good set so everyone can hear.
