This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Social studies is usually stereotyped with lots of reading and NOTE TAKING. Trying to get students motivated and willing to take notes in class can be a struggle at times. Taking notes in Social Studies is inevitable so why not make it engaging for them!

I believe that if you make something engaging and hands-on for students, they are more willing to be engaged and participate.

By having interactive notebooks in my class, it provides students with hands-on learning when it comes to taking notes and also practice their organizational skills.

This is my first year trying interactive notebooks and want to ensure that my students have the proper supplies to build their notebooks and continuously use it throughout the school year. My plan is to make their notebooks a one stop shop for all their content throughout the year. Over the past 3 years, I’ve realized how easy students can lose their hand outs or notes that they take on folder papers. By having these notebooks, they can keep track of all their work in one place.
