Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As I’m embarking on a new role this year as a social studies teacher, I want to give my students a great and positive experience. I’m excited to create a classroom where students feel engaged, supported, and inspired to learn. With your help, I can provide materials that bring history to life and create a space where students thrive both academically and emotionally.

This project includes high-interest book sets like I Survived, Percy Jackson, and Trials of Apollo to encourage a love of reading.

A Time for Kids subscription, a write-and-wipe map, and a primary source set will support hands-on learning in social studies. The TIME for Kids will provide students with an opportunity to learn about current events. I’m also requesting basic supplies like markers, glue sticks, pencils, and a rack for anchor charts to help keep our learning tools organized and accessible.

To support student well-being, this project includes a rug, comfy seating, and magnet tiles to help create a calm corner. A Teachers Pay Teachers gift card will allow me to access additional engaging resources throughout the year.

I hope that my students have the best time this school year as they and I both embark on a new chapter of learning and growing. Thank you for helping me build a classroom where students feel excited to learn and ready to succeed!
