My Students
My 1st graders come in everyday eager to learn. We face challenges as opportunities to allow our brains to get stronger. We provide high academic standards in a safe and nurturing environment that affords all students the opportunity to succeed.
My 1st graders are a diverse group of students that would benefit from developing social skills to prepare them for a lifetime of healthier interactions in all aspects of their lives.
Our school is part of an underfunded school district. Many of our students have not been taught the proper way to handle certain situations that they face on a daily basis.
My Project
By purchasing these books, you will be helping to create a better tomorrow. In a world filled with so much hate, it is essential to teach children about respect, empathy, fairness, kindness, self-control, giving back, responsibility, conflict resolution, and leadership as well as provide them with coping strategies to handle their emotions.
These books will support lessons on social skills and help them verbalize their thoughts and feelings.
The inability to verbalize feelings can lead to a downward spiral of anxiety, arguing, and fighting. Leaving me to deal with these behaviors, instead of, teaching the curriculum that must be taught. These books are relatable and encourage conversation. They will provide them with the proper tools to use in many different social situations.
