Help me give my students amazing stories to support their emotional and social development to become good citizens.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Borasky's classroom raised $355
This project is fully funded
My Students
My school is in a low-income area with a high ESOL and special education population. All of our students are entitled to free breakfast and lunch.
My students are a very energetic group of second graders who are eager to learn and find new ways to learn new things.
This year we discovered two authors whose books we fell in love with. Julia Cook, and Diane Alber, have helped us overcome anxiety, anger, and feelings in general. I have used many of their books to help my students during situations that have ocurred both in our classrooms and our world.
My Project
My classroom is lucky enough to have a very large library. However, my students are growing up in a society where they are encountering many inappropriate behavior and need good models to help them deal with behaviors.
This project will make a difference to the second graders I teach because it will help engage in discussions and follow-up activities to become better citizens in our world.
With the help of the remaining Julia Cook and Diane Alber books that we do not have in the classroom I can continue to help explain expected behaviors and appropriate social skills in a child centric way. From problem solving, stealing, bullying, making friends, as well as others, these books will help my students learn proper social skills.
