My Students
My students are energetic, loving, and excited to learn. They work hard and they play hard. They are curious about the world around them and they aren't afraid to ask questions. They try their best in class, they give compliments to those around them, and their smiles light up the room.
My students are learning how to work together.
They do their best to support each other and help each other. They are happy to do anything they can to help out and they are eager to please. We have a lot of work to do this year, but as a team we can accomplish anything!
My Project
My students have been struggling with social skills this year. "The Way I Feel" and "The Way I Act" are entertaining books with vivid illustrations. They capture the attention of the audience and help children understand their feelings and actions. Author Julia Cook has written many children's books that address common social needs. Her books help kids of all ages and abilities by showing a variety of social issues and how to tackle them. They lead to genuine discussions and allow students to come up with plans for when these issues arise.
My students want to have friends, to follow directions, and to be good kids.
They need more support and I need to teach them how to accomplish these goals. These social skills books will help me tackle these issues and allow the kids to explore their problems and come up with their own solutions. The visuals will help them recognize and understand social cues and situations.
