Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a first year school counselor, I'm trying to build up my tool kit of essential skills that I can teach my students to help guide them as they navigate through various personal, social, and academic issues.

Most of the materials in my cart for this project is aimed at my group and individual counseling sessions.

I have included various books such as "Sometimes I Have Big Feelings..." and "Ninja Life Hacks" book collections. I can read these books aloud with my students that discuss topics such as emotional regulation, how to share, how to empathize, how to cope with grief and loss, and why school attendance is important.

I have also included various games such as the talking cubes, Mad Dragons, and tic-tac-toe. I will use these materials during my counseling sessions. Play therapy works wonders with the age group that I currently am working with.
