My Project

My class is filled with 3 and 4-year-olds, some whom are brand new to a structured setting away from their families. Providing students with lessons in social-emotional learning is just as important as introducing them to academic skills. Some of the items I have chosen will help students to identify feelings and other items will help students manage their feelings.

I plan to use these items to help my students understand what emotions are and how to safely express them.

An important part of school readiness is children learning social-emotional skills. Preschool social-emotional skills include being able to get along and cooperate with others, manage strong feelings, and focus attention. These skills are critical for long-term school and life success.
