My Project

My students are thoughtful, creative, and full of potential. Many of them are working hard to build coping strategies that help them manage emotions, navigate social situations, and succeed in both academic and personal areas of their lives. They benefit from consistent emotional support and structured opportunities to develop self-awareness and self-regulation skills.

We use the Zones of Regulation and Social Thinking curriculums to guide their social-emotional growth.

These evidence-based programs help students identify how they’re feeling (what "zone" they’re in), understand how their behavior affects others, and choose tools and strategies to regulate their emotions and behaviors effectively.

Resources like regulation tools,, art supplies, soft or adaptive lighting, and social-emotional read-alouds directly support these curriculums. Regulation tools help students practice moving from the yellow or red zones back to green. Art gives them a safe and expressive way to reflect on feelings and situations they've learned about in Social Thinking lessons. Special lighting creates a calm, welcoming space where emotional safety comes first. And read-alouds reinforce concepts like perspective-taking, flexible thinking, and problem-solving in ways that are engaging and relatable.

With these tools in place, students are better equipped to recognize their feelings, advocate for their needs, and choose strategies that support their success—in the classroom and beyond.
