This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students were in Kindergarten when the Covid-19 pandemic hit. Safety protocols and social distancing greatly impacted their first and second-grade years. They lack problem-solving skills in social and emotional situations. These books will give students excellent examples of what to do in different types of social situations while still keeping their emotional health strong.

This is also the first year that school breakfast and lunch will not be free to all students and I want to give them an opportunity to have healthy snacks to crunch on throughout the day.

Students who have food in their bellies are focusing more on learning rather than growling tummies.
