My Project

Hello, my name is Fabiana Liska, and I’m a second-year Resource teacher. I am currently expanding my Social Emotional Learning (SEL) library to better support my students’ emotional growth and development.

One resource that has proven especially effective is The Spot series.

These books not only introduce a wide range of emotions but also focus on each feeling individually, allowing me to tailor lessons to meet the unique needs of my students. They help create a solid emotional vocabulary, which is essential for my students’ self-awareness and self-regulation.

To reinforce these lessons in a hands-on, engaging way, I use tools like Play-Doh and Feelings and Emotions mats. These materials allow students to express and interpret their emotions physically and creatively, turning abstract feelings into something they can see and touch. This method has been especially helpful for my first and second graders, who are still learning how to manage the big emotions in their little bodies.

These resources are helping me provide meaningful strategies for emotional development in a way that’s accessible, fun, and impactful. Thank you so much for your support, it truly makes a difference!
