This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Kindergarten is many of my students' first experience with a school setting. For many of the kindergarten students due to the pandemic they have not been in large social settings. Many of my little learners need to develop an emotional awareness and learn strategies to deal with those emotions.
Read Aloud books can help my kindergarten students name their feelings and develop ways of dealing with these emotions.
Each of the books will be read aloud to the students so they can start to see themselves or others in the books. These books will help my students name the emotion they are feeling and give them strategies for dealing with these emotions in a positive and production way. These will be used to open up conversations around feelings and mindfulness.
