Social Emotional Learning Through Play

Help me give my students LEGOs, water bottles, soccer balls and other games to play with each other to learn teamwork and good sportsmanship.

My Project

My students are still readjusting to in person learning after learning virtually. Some students are still unfamiliar with how to play with others during free time, such as recess. They are learning how to interact with their peers in the classroom and also during recess and other free periods of time.

By providing structured activities, students will be able to continue practicing how to use socioemotional skills that we develop in the classroom over the course of the school year.

Being able to interact with their peers during free time in a structured way encourages sharing, patience and also provides opportunities for the students to celebrate each other. Students will continue learn to value good sportsmanship and the importance of treating each other with kindness and respect.
