Social Emotional Learning Pods!

My Students

The students in my kinder classroom are students who get excited about learning and growing. They show great excitement and become very engaged when they are able to use manipulatives and other tools for hands-on engagement. Our district is currently working on getting teachers and students together in our classroom again, and many of my students are excited to return to our school building.

Our school is a Title I school and many of my students may not always have all their economic, physical, and social needs met, but they are always excited, engaged, and ready to learn.

They can often be heard saying, “I love school!“

We are scheduled to go back into our building for face-to-face learning in a few weeks. I want to ensure that my students can focus on learning in a safe and fun-filled environment. Having this PPE can help provide another step to ensure that we are all safe and can concentrate on exploring, learning, and growing.

My Project

I am creating this project to provide students an in the classroom learning pod that will help them feel safe when they are going through the motions.

Each student will have a social learning pod tent that will be their own personal and protective learning space in the classroom for when they need to have a moment to their selves and breathe.

In the social learning pod tent, the student will have a pillow, a lap desk/table for their computer device and they can store their bookbag and learning tools. They will have a safe space and they will not worry about their belongings being shared during these times.

Parents can also rest assured knowing their child is protected in the classroom. I am looking forward and exciting my students about the return to the classroom with these fun learning pods. My whole kindergarten team is looking into getting these for our students!
