Social Emotional Learning Materials

Help me give my students social emotional materials to help with handling big emotions, coping, and social skills.

My Project

The materials that I have selected will be utilized in my K-5th grade school counseling office. My students are special as they need extra social-emotional supports at school.

The SEL card games and board games and will be utilized in elementary school counseling small group and individual therapy sessions for students to learn how to handle different scenarios and think about how they can handle their emotions by discussing different choices and ways to cope in a given situation.

By having access to the activity books and coloring books, social emotional games and manipulatives, kindergarten through fifth grade students will be able to learn coping skills, how to handle big emotions, model social skills, and practice breathing techniques to calm down by participating in the activities provided in the materials I would like my students to utilize.

The puzzles, fidget items, stuffed animals, books, sensory bottles, and emoji molds to make different textured emojis will help students to have something to do to calm down if escalated and help them communicate how they are feeling and talk once calm. These are the skills they need to become successful and grow into the best individual they can be. My goal is for my students to learn how to better cope with emotions and learn how to handle situations in the best way possible with a positive mindset.

For students, mental health is crucial because it has a large impact on how they learn and participate in school. Mental health affects students' academic achievement, building positive relationships with both adults and peers, and stress management. These items requested will have an impact on learning and support student mental health. Thank you for your generous donation.
