My Project
I teach social emotional learning to students pre-K to 5th grade. Our school is very diverse in ethnicity and culture so art materials that represent all skin colors are very important so the students can accurately represent themselves, family, classmates within their projects. We use art a lot to create and destress so markers, crayons, paper etc are all very important materials.
In the younger grades we focus a lot on building social connections through cooperative play activities utilizing building sets, play dough, magnetic toys.
The books will help to keep the kids engaged and focused on feelings, interactions and other important life situations.
All of these materials would allow my students in varying grades to participate in many different activities that build connection and social awareness to help create healthy terms and eventually adults.
