Social-Emotional Learning Journals

Help me give my students individual journals, books, and writing tools to process social-emotional challenges and to celebrate their growth this year.

My Project

My class of super creative and emotional second graders need to write about their big feelings on a daily basis. They have been through a lot, and missed learning valuable social skills in kindergarten due to COVID. They love to draw and are learning to deal with many challenging situations by writing and drawing about their feelings. We are a Title I school and most students are from economically disadvantaged households. I am requesting composition books, writing tools, and social-emotional learning books for student journaling. Please help me help them use journaling to process emotions both at school and at home. This will give them the mental energy to focus on learning academic skills in our classroom and help them apply what they learn at school to the outside world.
