My Project

I have requested gardening tools and seeds for students to be able to have what they need to be successful in the garden. Learning environments, such as the garden, open a new world of how students view themselves. In the garden, confidence is boosted, team work is practiced, and students grow right alongside the things they plant.

I have seen students who struggle greatly in the classroom, excel WILDLY in the garden, and express dreams of things they once thought were out of reach.

Nothing is sweeter than to see a child who adamantly states how much they hate school, use their classroom learning in the garden without even realizing it. The disbelief in their eyes quickly turns to pride and confidence in themselves.
