My Project
My students are in grades kindergarten through fifth grade, they are in general education and receive special education support through resource. These students are amazing individuals with big emotions.
The pandemic has been hard on most children, and now that we are back to school in person I want to help guide them to understand their emotions.
These materials will help students understand their emotions and how to handle the big emotions through a variety of books and materials. I'm going to build an SEL Center in my classroom with the fidgets and sensory items.
Your donations will go toward building a social emotional library, including books from the series A Little SPOT of Emotion, A Little SPOT Takes Action, A Little SPT of Feelings and the Everyone Feels series. Along with the library will be a center with sensory and fidget toys for anxiety relief and sensory play. The MAD Skillz card game for taking control of emotions and feelings will be used individually and small group situations.
