This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I want to add social emotional learning books to our school's library to inspire kindness in my students.
These books will allow my students to read books that model kindness and compassion for others and our world!
I believe that reading books about kindness will inspire my student's to be more kind.
Our school library had been neglected for many years. Most of the books in the library were 20-plus years old. My goal for this year is to have a collection of 8,000 books for our 700 students. I also want to drop the average age of the books to 10 years. Having a full and updated library collection will inspire more students to check out and read books.
