My Project

Thank you for your interest in helping my students! I am requesting a social-emotional learning library for my 3rd through 5th grade special education students. I will use these books with my students to teach about emotions through the Zones of Regulation curriculum and lessons. These lessons build student self and social awareness. Additionally, our entire school will have access to borrow these texts to learn more about identifying and regulating emotions - not just a select group! These resources will ultimately help our entire school community.

My goal in having this library available to my special education students, as well as the students across our school, is to grow social-emotional skills that will stick with these students for life.

Each of these texts and the accompanying bookshelf will create a cozy and safe space for students to explore their feelings, and learn more about crucial like skills. My third grade through fifth grade students in a Minneapolis public school are working on their ability to work through complex emotions. Through these books, we will learn together that all emotions are okay, and that how we deal with them is important.
