Social Emotional Learning and Wellness Project

Help me give my students sensory soothing tools and supplies to be used in the SEL Social Emotional Learning lessons we teach daily. Included in this request are 20 heavy duty yoga mats for mindfulness practices.

My Students

The entire student body and staff at our school are welcome to use the Wellness Center as needed to help with emotional regulation. Some days we just need a quick 10 min break to calm our nerves, sadness, or frustrations. Students will receive the support, and tools to help move that process along and get back to class and ready to learn.

My Project

Over the past six months our school has embarked on a journey to mental health and wellness. We have done this with the introduction of a Wellness Center and with classroom Social Emotional Learning (SEL) lessons. All students, teachers and staff at MVE have the opportunity when needed to take a ten min break from stresses, frustrations, anxiety etc.

In the Wellness Center students and teachers find a quiet, dimly lit, calming space with tools to help them focus and calm their minds to return to class or work ready to learn and grow.
